Tarot and Oracle Card Altar

This luxurious altar was been created with beautiful merino wool fabric from Johnstons of Elgin in Scotland and a pre-loved tapestry and silk cushion found in a local Op shop here in Australia.

Inside I have hand-stitched my symbols for the minor arcana of the tarot. The centre of the altar is surrounded with lace trim and has a ribbon and a small pocket to hold any card that requires further focus and contemplation.

The gems included are from my own jewellery collection, a couple of vintage wooden beads from a necklace my mother wore in Nigeria, a porcelain piece from a vintage earring, Huayruro seeds from Peru, known for their qualities of protection and good luck, and other charms I have found.

The altar has been made to hold regular sized tarot and oracle decks and most regular sized oracle decks (including mine). It has an adjustable fastening with a garnet crystal which allows different deck sizes to be accommodated..
